The IGY6; Equine & Dry Fire Event
On October 20, 2024, The IGY6; Foundation brought together veterans and first responders in Houston, Texas, for an incredible day of connection, outdoor experiences, and personal growth during our Equine & Dry Fire Event.
We had a great time stepping away from everyday routines, trying different activities, and enjoying the opportunity to connect with others who understand the unique challenges that come with serving our communities and country. The day was filled with memorable moments, shared experiences, and the kind of camaraderie that makes these events so special.
Connecting Through Horses and Training
The equine portion of the event provided an opportunity to spend time around horses, enjoy the peaceful environment, and experience the unique connection that can develop between people and animals. Being around horses encourages patience, awareness, and a willingness to slow down and be present in the moment.
We also took part in dry fire training, providing an opportunity to focus on technique, discipline, and concentration in a controlled training environment. Bringing these different activities together made for a unique experience that combined time around horses with an opportunity to practice and develop skills.
A Great Day of Camaraderie
What made this event so enjoyable was more than the activities themselves. It was the opportunity to spend time together, share conversations, exchange experiences, and strengthen the bonds that bring our community together.
